Directors and senior representatives of 15 European institutions for professional development of public administration employees gathered on March 9 and 10 at the "International Cooperation in the Spotlight" event at the National Academy for Public Administration. This multilateral meeting was organized on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Academy's work, with the aim of improving and further promoting international cooperation. The event at the Academy was attended by representatives of related institutions from Albania, Bulgaria, France, Croatia, Georgia, Germany, Moldova, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, as well as from EIPA and ReSPA and the NISPAcee network represented by Ludmila Gajdosova, the NISPAcee Executive Director.

The two-day meeting was opened by the acting director of the Academy, Dejan Miletić, who stated that he was proud of the fact that the National Academy of Public Administration in these two days represented the hub of inter-institutional cooperation not only in the countries of the region, but also in Europe, and that the nurturing and development of cooperation, as in regionally as well as internationally, represents the permanent and firm determination of the Academy.

Then the assistant minister for state administration and local self-government, Jasmina Benmansur, and the permanent representative of the United Nations Development Program in Serbia, Jakup Beriš, addressed the meeting participants.

The Minister for European Integration Tanja Miščević stressed that the Academy has proven to be a center of excellence in these five years and that, in addition to strengthening the capacity and knowledge of employees in public administration, it actively works on networking and cooperation, which is of immeasurable importance for the work of public administration. The minister emphasized the close and concrete cooperation between the Ministry of European Integration and the Academy, which is reflected in the exchange of expert knowledge needed by both institutions.

Different types of international cooperation among related institutions and the concept of administration as a service aimed at citizens were topics in the focus of the presentation and panel discussion of the participants.
