Project "Government vs. Governance in the Teaching of Young Academicians in V4”

Activity: Project workshop

Date: May 24, 2014

Venue: Budapest, Hungary

The project "Government vs. Governance in the Teaching of Young Academicians in V4”, supported by the International Visegrad Fund (www.visegradfund.org) brought together young academicians and teachers and provided them with the opportunity to discuss actual public administration and policy theories and topics through their participation in the 22nd NISPAcee Annual Conference – the largest international public administration conference in Central and Eastern Europe, organised by the Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe , the National University of Public Service, and Corvinus University in Budapest, on May 22-24, 2014.

The project partners NISPAcee, the National University of Public Service (Hungary), Masaryk University (Czech Republic) and the University of Maria Curie-Sklodowska (Poland) selected 14 young participants from their countries.

V4 participants had the possibility of taking part in the conference sessions, mainly on the main conference theme "Government vs. Governance in Central and Eastern Europe - From Pre-Weberianism to Neo-Weberianism?” in the sessions of the Panel on Max Weber and Public Policy Today and in the final project workshop.

The project workshop was led by leading expert Ms. Polona Kovac from Slovenia. She was also a Chair of the conference sessions on the main conference theme. Within the project workshop, the leading expert and participants discussed the outputs on the main theme and their possible implications in the region. They also discussed and agreed the future work on the brief papers on the outputs to be developed by participants by the end of June 2014.
