Workshop on the development of a methodological manual for trainers

February 18-21, 2014, Podgorica, Montenegro

The DEPOCEI Workshop on the development of a methodological manual for trainers was held on February 18-21, 2014 at the host institution, the Faculty of Political Science, Montenegro.

The programme for the workshop was developed by NISPAcee experts Mr. Alfredas Chmieliauskas from Lithuania and Mr. Gyorgy Gajduschek from Hungary.

During the first part of the workshop they introduced the development of the manual, its purpose and proposed structure, which had been sent to participants in advance for their review. The workshop continued with a discussion on the methodology of training in order to match the skills of future training providers (trainers) and the needs of the trainees (target audience). At the same time, a discussion was held on the impact of the methodology on the planned training manual.

In the framework of the next part, the experts from NISPAcee and Belgrade Open School shared their training experiences with workshop participants to show them how to actually do the training. The NISPAcee experts introduced to them, as a sample, the draft training programme of Module 0 (General part), its content and planned methodology. The participants – representatives of individual modules on specific policies – used this sample training programme as a guide for the development of the programmes on their modules. They benefited from the presence of the training experts and also of their colleagues from other Western Balkan countries to jointly work on the training designs. All the designed modules were presented and the participants were able to provide useful feedback to the respective module representatives.

At the end of the meeting, the individual roles, responsibilities and important deadlines were agreed. It was agreed that the NISPAcee experts would develop a draft of the training module prior to the next workshop (April 2014).
