The International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA) held its Board of Management Meeting (BoM) at the Headquarters of the IIAS (International Institute of Administrative Sciences) in Brussels, Belgium. NISPAcee is a corporate member of the organization. Ludmila Gajdosova, NISPAcee’s Executive Director, participated in the meeting. She was elected a BoM member during the last elections, which were held during last year’s IASIA Annual Conference in Bahrain. The President of IASIA, Michiel de Vries, invited Ludmila Gajdosova to serve as a Vice-President for Regional and International Cooperation. In addition, Mrs. Gajdosova also serves as a co-chair of the Working Group on Education and Training.

The BoM meeting included a Strategy meeting of the organisation, regular agenda and a special social event with representatives of IIAS, hosted by its President, Geert Bouckaert, in Leuven. This social event provided an excellent opportunity for networking between IASIA and IIAS. The general agenda of the BoM focused mainly on regular activities of the organisation and their further development. These include annual conferences, working groups, publications, membership, and cooperation with partners etc.

NISPAcee members may be interested in obtaining information about the upcoming Annual Conference to be held in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, on June 30 – July 4, 2014 and IASIA’s preparation of International Accreditation of public administration programmes.

 

The Call for Papers for the Annual Conference is open until February 28, 2014.

Preparations for the International Accreditation and CIAPA (Commission on International Accreditation of Public Administration Education and Training Programmes) activities were discussed. The first pilot accreditation should be implemented in 2014. There is important information for programmes from Europe and the entire NISPAcee region in these regards. If anyone is interested in IASIA International Accreditation in the future, they would be requested to first of all pass the EAPAA accreditation (European Association for Public Administration Accreditation), or a joint accreditation could be considered.
