How can equality mainstreaming enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of policies?
How can it support the realisation of equality in society?
How do you include an equality perspective in policy-making?
What concrete tools and methods can you use in your daily work to implement equality mainstreaming?
How can you communicate about and advocate for equality mainstreaming?
This online course will explore these questions, with the aim of enhancing your ability to mainstream an equality perspective in policy, from its inception to its evaluation. You will learn the key concepts of equality mainstreaming and get inspiration from good practices, with a focus on disability and gender mainstreaming. You will discover the different concrete tools that exist to mainstream equality in a variety of sectors. Finally, you will also learn how to promote equality mainstreaming as a tool for better policy and a skill increasingly valued.

What you will learn in this course:

What equality mainstreaming is and how it looks like in theory and in practice.
How to ensure an intersectional perspective when applying equality mainstreaming.
What equality, disability and gender mean in the context of equality mainstreaming.
What are the main methodologies and tools to apply equality mainstreaming.
How to analyse data, policies and evaluate them from an equality perspective.
Why equality mainstreaming has become a key tool and argument for better policy.
How an equality mainstreaming expertise can benefit your organisation.
How to communicate about and advocate for equality mainstreaming.
How to apply it concretely in your own work context and organisation.
Course methodology/highlights:

The course will be led by an expert with a decade of experience on human rights and equality mainstreaming in policy-making and on the field.

The course delivery will combine interactive presentations, showcasing practical examples, quick polls to consolidate concepts, and group exercises.

This is an introductory course and is open to participants from all levels of knowledge and experience.
