Opportunities: presentation of the best practices and development models of the civil society, analysis of the experience, discussion of the future perspectives, principles and obstacles to a successful development of the civil society in Kazakhstan and in the post-soviet countries.
Participants: experts of civil society development in Kazakhstan and abroad (academics, researchers, managers, etc); representatives of the civil organizations (think-tanks), that are involved in the issues of the civil society, or just people, who are interested in this sphere.
The conference will bring together over 300 representatives from international experts and leading specialists in the sphere of civil society: sociologists, scientists, entrepreneurs, public and political figures, parliamentarians, representatives of NGOs, think-tank organizations, and mass media.
The success of the conference is credited largely to the partners and sponsors, who lend their names and financial support to the event. We have been supported by various organizations, such as the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Delegation of the European Union, and other social responsible businesses.
The work on the conference will be focused on the following topics:
I. Achievements in the process of developing civil society in the post soviet countries.
II. The issues of civic participation as a factor of democratic change in the former Soviet Union
III. The social partnership, corporative social responsibility and cross-sectoral partnership: developing perspectives.
IV. The NGO institute: achievements, lessons and prospects.
Prospective results:
- Promote civil society development in Kazakhstan and in the former Soviet Union.
- Intensify the research in civil society development.
- Develop the recommendations for civil society development in Kazakhstan and the former Soviet Union.
- Demonstrate international experience and promote academic elements in the process of civil society development.
Registration Process:
Registration of the participants will begin on 20 July 2011.
