Higher education systems of Central and East European countries have gone in last two decades
through a period of massive expansion with the dynamic increase in the number of students, the
emergence of HE private institutions and quantitative expansion of public academic centers. It is
sometimes said that such developments have been a crucial factor of relative success of several

the experiences of other countries and theoretical insights.
