The collapse of the communist system resulted in the processes of transformation in Central and Eastern Europe. Since 20 years have passed the definition of transformation needs to be reconsidered in the face of new challenges. In this case the fundamental point is the multidimensional character of the changes which take place in different realms of civil life from the 1989. The conference aims to initiate trans-disciplinary dialogues, to bring together scholars of the Central and Eastern Europe to exchange ideas and findings concerning the mutual problems of the region in the face of transformation; we warmly welcome and expect papers related to the listed thematic units. The main topic of the conference has been divided into 5 thematic units: Society (civil) in the face of transformation, Transformation in the context of the structural and institutional, Gender transformation, Culture in the face of transformation, Effects of transformation on the economy.
