The Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) will host a conference in Tbilisi, February 23-25, 2017, entitled, “Good Governance: Promoting Democratic Values and Practices Through Education.” Speakers will address four areas in which higher education can provide essential preparation for those who will enter the public service to include curriculum and academic program development, leadership and governance skills development, methods for teaching practices associated with good governance, and issues related to ethical behavior and corruption avoidance. While the focus will be on the Trans Caucasus region, participants from other areas in Central and Eastern Europe as well as those from other locations would be welcome.
Anyone who would like to participate by presenting their research in this content area should submit an abstract (no more than 300 words) no later than November 15, 2016.

Submissions should be sent to Nino Dolidze at n.dolidze@gipa.ge or Terry Anderson at tanderson@troy.edu.

Full papers must be submitted no later than December 31, 2016.

The conference papers will be published in a special edition of the Journal of Politics and Democratization, a new online journal co-published through a partnership between GIPA and Troy University in Troy, Alabama. All final papers should be prepared in accordance with the publication guidelines for the journal.
