During the 31st annual NISPAlce conference in Belgrade, held from May 24th to May 27th, 2023, a Poster Session was organized during the coffee break on Friday, May 26th, 2023, from 15:30 to 17:00.
The event was hosted by Iwona Sobis from the School of Public Administration at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. The chairperson of this session encouraged other conference participants to take part in the poster session and support the authors on their new "scientific journey."
Compared to the 30th NISPAcce conference in Bucharest, where the poster session was held online in a separate room (one presenter), in Belgrade, this session was conducted as a physical meeting between the researchers presenting their posters and the audience present in the entrance hall during the coffee break. This change contributed to an increase in the number of speakers presenting their planned research (three presenters) and the number of conference participants who asked questions and provided constructive comments on the planned research. However, poster sessions are still in the experimental phase and require further marketing and development.
According to the participants of the Poster Session in Belgrade, it was highly appreciated by the scientists presenting their posters, as well as by the audience engaged in discussions with the authors. Open discussions, questions, and constructive criticism regarding the weaknesses of the planned research, along with pragmatic solutions, proved to be significant support, stimulating, and motivating the authors to make further efforts in completing their planned research.
