Report 2021

Poster session

Panel Coordinator:
Iwona Sobis, School of Public Administration, Gothenburg University, Sweden

Place: 29th NISPAcee Annual Conference, Ljubljana, Slovenia
Date: October 21-23, 2021
Main theme of the conference: "Citizens' Engagement and Empowerment - The Era of Collaborative Innovation in Governance"

The first poster session in the history of the annual NISPAcee conference was held at the University of Ljubljana, on Friday, October 22, 2021, during an afternoon coffee break in the Lobby of the Faculty of Public Administration. The session was chaired by Iwona Sobis from the School of Public Administration at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. It was a modest event, as only two PhD students physically presented their posters. No one showed up during the online session. The physically organised poster session was attended by Mitja Decman from the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, who presented his research proposal on "Contributing to the development of online public services: a Slovenian e-authorisation project" and Peter Molnar from Karoli Gaspar Reformed University in Budapest, Hungary, who presented his dissertation proposal on "Electronic government at local level in Hungary during the pandemic".
The poster session experiment clearly showed that comments, questions, and pragmatic ideas from the audience were highly appreciated by the presenters. According to the latter, this reaction from the audience pushed their own research ideas forward. According to both presenters, the poster session should be continued in the future. Some representatives of the assembled audience shared a similar opinion. Therefore, let's continue this activity; let it serve those scientists who need to talk to someone about their research ideas.
