IN-SERVICE TRAINING AND STAFF DEVELOPMENT
In-service training for civil servants is offered through the Project Management and Local Self-Government Training Centre of the University of Latvia, the Latvian School of Public Administration, the Local Government Training Centre, regional training centres and various courses and internships abroad. The Institute of Humanities of the Latvian University of Agriculture also houses a training centre.
European and comparative topics are gradually becoming an important component of these training courses, and increasing numbers of lecturers from West European countries are visiting Latvia and delivering lectures on European and comparative topics.
