Abstract

Introduced by Perry and Wise (1990) Public Service Motivation (PSM) represents the predisposition of an individual to respond to motives specific to public organizations. In a previous research made in 2010 on 343 public servants from Romania (Creţa, Şandor, 2011) we analyzed 22 dimensions (PSM included) with respect to public servants needs and we found that public service motivation was quite low (on 15th position). Later, in a 2011 research among Romanian undergraduates in PA we found similar values for PSM. So, a question arises: how influential is PA Education over the future public servants? Is PSM related to choosing the field of study? Is PSM increasing during PA studies?
In order to find answers to these questions a survey among PA students in the BA program of the Babeş-Bolyai University will be done.
