The Working Group will meet for the first time with the intention of establishing within NISPAcee an economically-oriented Working Group. Financing of public administration is a key factor which influences the functioning of public administration. Today, the vast majority of countries in the region faces a deterioration in public finances and is undergoing various expenditure cuts. It is therefore important to be aware of both the allocation and stabilisation impacts of these cuts. The submitted papers deal with questions such as the impact of different budgetary items on economic growth, public expenditure evaluation and efficiency, tax and debt issues and local government finance. The expected outcome of the first year’s work is a clearly defined research question and methodology for the second year of the WG’s project.
