Presenter  Gyorgy Hajnal
Abstract

The paper explores, on the empirical basis of a mini expert survey conducted among the participants of the Sixth Trans-European Dialogue in Public Administration (TED6) discussing Public Administration / Public Management (PA/PM) issues, the changing patterns PA/PM programs’ dominant disciplinary orientation across Europe. The study is a comparative one in two respects. It compares, naturally, different countries and clusters of countries in Europe. Secondly, the results are compared with those established in a 1998-1999 survey of a similar nature. In particular, the paper seeks to present evidence related to whether and how the substance and the geographical boundaries of the three clusters PA education - the legal, the managerial and the policy/political science based - have changed since the results of the previous survey were published in 2003.
