Abstract

The public administration program at Babes-Bolyai University has taken an active role in promoting interactions with universities in other parts of the world to develop its academic offerings. An international advisory board has served to help develop the curriculum and to explore programmatic change to enhance a research agenda. Direct exchanges between BBU and American universities have included degrees for BBU staff, students and faculty exchanges, and study abroad with students making joint presentations of papers at NISPAcee conferences. In 2012, a dual offering of a course in comparative public administration and public policy with an American university is expected to benefit student enrollees and may lead to more academic interactions, including the possibility of a dual degree program. Experiences to date are thought to be of interest to NISPAcee members and others interested in enhancing cross-cultural offerings in public administration.
