 Title  Inspection supervision for environmental protection in Republic of Macedonia

Abstract  
  
Inspection supervision represents type of administrative supervision which is one of the main tools for control possessed by the executive authorities that governs with states.
Environmental protection, on the other hand is imperative for contemporary societies and it is one of the main pillars that are an essential for sustainable development.
Inspection supervision is conducted in a separate administrative (inspection procedure), is performed by specialized bodies of the state administration, is being characterized with executive authority.
This paper also will present the environmental inspection in Republic of Macedonia, especially normative, theoretical and institutional aspects.
Also, the paper will present results relating to penal policy in relation to crimes against the environment for the period 1999 – 2010. The results from the analysis are from the empirical data that are published in statistical yearbooks of reported, accused and convicted persons by the State Statistical Office of Republic of Macedonia.
The paper will present results from empirical research conducted in Macedonia related to attitudes, experiences and practice of environmental protection in the inspection supervision. Respondents of this research are environmental inspectors from central and local level. These attitudes are related to the actual conditions of applicability and practices of environmental protection in Macedonia.
