Abstract

Czech at on information systems in public administration stipulates that the vast majority of public authorities shall approve the information conception (till the end of 2008) which shall serve as a basic instrument of their ICT management. Supplementary legislations have specified content of such conceptions.

The proposed paper will summarize and compare the content of information conceptions that were obtained from 14 (out of 23) statutory cities and 9 (out of 13 regions). Since both of these types of Czech public administration subjects represent the largest administrative authorities in Czech territorial self-government, one would expect high quality of information conceptions. The analysis of gathered information conceptions revealed challenges that may raise questions about existing practices of the instrument across the Czech public administration.
