Presenter Abstract The paper would be a case study dealing with anticorruption effects of the 2004 active labour market policy reform in Slovakia. The reform, coinciding with the EU accession and the overall social policy reform, sharply limited scope for discretion by individual employees of employment services as well as any collective bodies. Instead, it established a right of individuals/employers to certain labour market instruments provided conditions stipulated by the law are met. The paper would explore the reform and how it contributed to the reduction of corruption, but it would focus on the political economy of its approval as well as continuing sustainability.
