Study Visit of Representatives of GIFT MENA

October 28-29, 2010
Bratislava, Slovak Republic

A study visit of two representatives from GIFT MENA took place on October 28-29, 2010. Ms. Sabine Hatem and Ms. Linda Dahdah from the Governance Institutes Forum for Training in the Middle East and North Africa visited the NISPAcee Secretariat (Bratislava, Slovakia) during two days, in order to establish a deeper co-operation between both institutions, to find out more information about NISPAcee and its activities and to learn from the NISPAcee experience.

The first day of the study visit began with an introductory presentation by GIFT MENA colleagues on the present status and activities of their organisation.

Following this:

Ms. Ludmila Gajdosova, NISPAcee Executive Director, provided a background on NISPAcee’s history, its legal status, general management and finances, HRM and activities. During the afternoon session, and also on the following day, the study visit continued with presentations from NISPAcee’s managers who introduced their work.

Ms. Viera Wallnerova, NISPAcee Project Manager, spoke about the annual Conferences and Events Management, Summer Schools and research projects and Working Groups.

Ms. Elena Zakova, NISPAcee Project Manager, presented NISPAcee’s experience in project management, training and training materials, tailor-made training and study tours.

Mr. Juraj Sklenar, NISPAcee PR Manager, gave a presentation on information management, NISPAcee membership, databases, access to the databases and NISPAcee publications.

Mr. Jan Andruch, NISPAcee IT expert, presented the NISPAcee web-site and IT, technical background, e-publications, e-newsletter and NISPAcee participation in UNPAN.

During the two days, discussions took place between the two sides. The visitors had the opportunity to ask any other questions which were not included in the presentations. This study visit created a basis for future co-operation. Both representatives from GIFT MENA confirmed that NISPAcee’s experience and expertise in the area of public administration reforms could also be relevant to the further development of their organisation and a future mutual partnership.
