Alena Brunovska, Executive Di­rector of Academia Istropolitana Nova, Associate Professor and Doctor of Sciences in Chemical Engineering  was born Date on October 20, 1941, Prague and passed away October 2, 1998.

 

As a part of the joint project between the Austrian Federal AcademyofPublic Administrationand Academia Istropolitana’s School of PublicAdministration, the second meeting of represen­ tatives of schools and institutes of public administration in Central and Eastern Europe was organized in Bratislava in January 1994. NIS­PAcee was established in order to fill the gap in co­operation amongst publicadministration educational and training centresin the CEE countries. During this meeting, Alena Brunovská took responsibil­ity to host the executive secre­tariat of the organization at the Academia Istropolitana.

 

She was a Scientific degree Doctor of Sciences (1993); Habilita­tion, Slovak Technical Univer­sity, Bratislava (1989); Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Slovak Technical University, Bratislava (1976); Undergraduate study, Chemical Engineering, Slovak Technical University, Bratislava (1966).

 

The 1. Chair of the Steering Commit­tee of the „Network of Schools and Institutes of Public Admin­istration,Central and Eastern Europe" (1994–1997). Executive Director, Academia Istropolitana Nova (22.5.1997 – 2.10.1998); Director pro tem, Academia Istropoli­tana Nova (1.2.1997 – 22.5.1997); International Affairs, Aca­demia Istropolitana (26.1.19963 – 1.1.1997); Director of Aca­demia Istropolitana, Bratislava (15.5.1994 ­ 26.1.1996); Acting Deputy Minister responsible for science and development (1990–1991).

 

Faculty of Chemical Tech­nology, Slovak TechnicalUniver­sity, Bratislava (1969–1995); Re­search Institute LIKO, Bratislava (1966–1969). Author of two books and 65 papers in scientific chemical engineer­ing journals. Visiting professorat Po­litecnicodi Milano (1985) and Universi­ta di Cagliari (1988); Invited lecturer at Universita di Milano (1985), Montedison Bollate (1985), IIASA Luxembourg (1989), Northwestern Uni­ versity and Univer­sity of Minnesota (1989), Technical University of Sofia (1990), University of Illinois of Chi­cago (1991), Catholic University Leuven (1992), Bask Coun­try University (1992).
