Working group on Public
Policy Analysis Development Issues continues its work in the framework of
public policy analysis methodology, tools and techniques and would like to proceed
under the umbrella of the 24th NISPAcee conference to take a multi-actor
approach to policy analysis and policy development. More specifically, authors
are encouraged to focus on all stages of the public policy cycle using various
tools and techniques of policy analysis. The authors are welcome to present their
paper proposals focused on:
- Evidence based policy development and policy making: what
really works in practice.
- Policy design and Implementation: from principal-agent to
multi-level governance.
- Evaluation: methods, techniques, tools, results and impact
assessment.
In recent years, more and
more comparative papers have been presented and published, so that a rich
inventory of cases is present. As a next step, we invite prospective presenters
to focus on the techniques of policy analysis and development, in an effort to
increase the practical relevance of the working group and to develop a common
knowledge base.
Involvement of practitioners
is highly appreciated. We therefore request presenters to add at least a few
paragraphs to their papers which focus on the practical relevance of their
papers, and invite them to involve practitioners as ‘peer- reviewers’ in this
respect. Papers written in cooperation between practitioners and researchers
are highly welcome.
