NISPAcee Mourns the Loss of its President, Mzia Mikeladze

Mzia Mikeladze, NISPAcee’s
President, passed away suddenly on January 20, 2012. She was 51. The
news came as a great shock to us all. We grieve her premature death and
would like to thank all our NISPAcee friends who have expressed their
condolences to us and to Mzia’s family.

The 5th Trans-European Dialogues (TED5): The Politics of Agency Governance
February 1-3, 2012, Budapest, Hungary
TED is an annual scholarly conference organised jointly by the two key
professional associations of Public Administration in Europe. Those
associations are the European Group of Public Administration (EGPA) and
the Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration in
Central and Eastern Europe (NISPAcee). TEDs are high-level, focused
conferences on timely topics in Public Administration, bringing together senior
experts from different regions, thereby facilitating interchange and
discussion across Europe and even including Central Asia and the
Caucasus.

European Public Administration Network (EUPAN)
In the
framework of the Polish Presidency in the Council of the EU in the second half
of 2011, Poland
was chairing works of the European Public Administration Network - EUPAN. It is
an informal network of the Directors General responsible for Public
Administration in the Member States of the European Union, the European
Commission and observer countries - representatives of Norway, Switzerland, candidate countries -
as well as other organizations. NISPAcee was also invited to participate.
NISPAcee Executive Director Ludmila Gajdosova represented NISPAcee in EUPAN
meetings.
