Sightseeing Trip to Trogir

Trogir is an ancient town on the Dalmatian coast, located only 30 km north from Split (40 minutes by car), on a small island connected by bridges on the north to the main land and on the south to the island of Čiovo. Its Blue Lagoon beach is a main attraction for yachts, boat trips and scuba diving.

One of the most beautiful Croatian coastal towns dates back to Greek time, when it was founded in the 3rd century B.C. In the 1st century conquered by Romans and developed as part of Salona, the centre of the Roman Empire in Dalmatia. Throughout the centuries other rulers left their traces in the architecture, culture and social networks of the city making Trogir a museum itself, protected on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites since 1997.

Some of the iconic parts include Trogir’s jewel - the Cathedral of St. Lawrence with its beautiful renowned Master Radovan’s Portal, first built in 13th century; Town’s Museum with its rich exhibits on the town’s history; Pinacoteca, where a visitor can be awed by its exhibit of iconic paintings; fortress Kamerlengo and tower of St. Marc built by the Venetians; Town’s Loggia – considered as one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean, and last but not least the Benedictine monastery of St. Nicholas – the official keeper of the Kairos Relief.
