Management and leadership topics been dealt with from different angles in the last decades. Strategic human resources management, as well as public leadership challenges are on the agenda of the European Union.
What makes good management in the public sector?
Is strategic and visionary leadership at the core of management in the public sector? Combining these elements in the best possible manner is a prerequisite for results in public organizations.
Within this framework, contributions were invited discussing the implications related to different public organizations management and leadership, from health to education, central or local administration, without limiting the potential spectrum of interest. Particular attention is paid to empirical research for transition economies in general and the case of Central and Eastern Europe in particular.
