Feedbacks from the Participant of the Study Tour

Irakli Paresishvili: The tour was very useful and interesting. We had the opportunity to become acquainted with the Slovak experience in the establishment of a modern management system in the water sector. It also helped us to identify the weaknesses of the water sector management in Georgia. During the study tour we also had the opportunity to understand the specifics of the water supply system in Bratislava and see the full cycle of operation of two wastewater treatment plants. The discussions helped us to better understand the importance of effective management in the water sector in terms of the environmental and social aspects. I hope that the lessons learned will help us towards a proper needs assessment and the further improvement of water sector management in Georgia.

Mariam Davitashvili: On behalf of Georgian delegation I want to express our gratitude to organizers of study tour on management of water supply sector and sewage system in Slovak Republic. Participants became acquainted with legal and practical aspects of the system. All meetings were very informative and useful equally  for representatives of Georgian municipalities and for officials from central governmental bodies. We started learning of Slovak experience with legal and management issues of water supply sector and continued with wastewater treatment plants of Bratislava and Modra Municipality.
As Georgia has to do a lot in a water supply sector and sewage system, Slovak experience is very helpful in effective management of ongoing reforms and transferring European standards in our legislation and infrastructural projects.
