Regional conference "Cooperation between Government and CSOs"
The regional
conference was held within the project "Civil society decides too”,
financed by the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro, IPA 2013 Civil
Society Facility Montenegro Programme and coordinated by the Centre for
Development of Non-Governmental Organisations, Montenegro in partnership with
NISPAcee and NGO BONUM, Montenegro.
The
conference was organised on December 7, 2015 in Podgorica, Montenegro. Its main
goal was to inform all stakeholders about the trend in civic participation in
Montenegro and cooperation between Government and CSOs, as well as to hear the state
of affairs in the region and the EU. All findings from the analysis, monitoring
and evaluation conducted throughout the project were presented at the
conference.
The
conference was opened by Mr. Mitja Drobnic, Head of the Delegation of the
European Union in Montenegro, Mr. Dusko Markovic, Vice-President of the
Government of Montenegro, Mr. Ranko Krivokapić the President of the Parliament
of Montenegro and Mrs. Ana Novaković, Executive Director of CRNVO. 70
participants - government officials, NGO representatives, EU and diplomatic
missions’ representatives and local self-governments’ representatives -
participated in the conference and 7 national media outlets were present at the
conference.
The
conference was divided into two panels. The first panel was Civil society in Montenegro in which
the results of the Research of the attitude of citizens towards the
non-governmental organisations were presented and commented on by Mr.
Aleksandar Pejovic, Chief Negotiator for Montenegro’s accession to the European
Union, Mr. Stevo Muk, President of the managing board of the Institute
Alternative and Mr. Marko Uljarevic, researcher at Ipsos Strategic Marketing.
The
second panel was NGO and citizen
participation in the creation of public policies - real cooperation or just a formality
in which representatives of NGOs and Governments from Croatia, Bosnia and
Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo and Montenegro presented the situation in their
respective countries concerning this topic.
