Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Belgrade, Serbia&Montenegro: Developing Knowledge, Skills and Tools in Management in Health Care

The following activities were completed:


1. Order of professional books had been done.


2. Team members prepared the teaching materials:

-         Legal and Ethical Aspects of Modern Medicine – Patients‘ Rights

-         Marketing in Helath Care

-         Management Skills

-         Management in Health Care – Slovene and Serbian Practices

-         ICT Tools in Health Care

The books are currently in the publishing phase and CDs are being prepared.


3. Meeting of team members was held in Belgrade in February 24-27, 2006. During this period, training in FON Advanced Teaching Method was organized for 2 days. During training programme, knowledge and experiences in application of new teaching methods and techniques were exchanged and it was decided that they will be applied to the courses that were modernized in this project. Afterwards, the second meeting of team members was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, March
29-30, 2006. There was discussion about some final issues of the project, materilas, syllabuses and teachers regarding application of new teaching methods and techniques.

5. A database of all Health Care institutions in Serbia is finished. It involves all relevant center of health care in every region of the country with names, addresses, phone numbers and web sites.


6. Web site is currently being prepared.

The syllabi of all courses are modernized Legal and Ethical Aspects of Modern Medicine – Patients‘ Rights consists of Introduction, Sources and Place of Medical Law and Patients Rights with basic human rights (right to life and death, right to physical and moral integrity, right to privacy, right to infomation privacy, right to medical and genetic privacy). Economics and Financial Strategic Planning of Health Care Organizations in Transition Countries was modernized with involving practical experiences and research of Faculty of Administration in Ljubljana, wich is added to existing theory. Syllabi was enriched with several management skills: Conflict Management, Leadership, Team Buuilding Skills, Negotiation Skills, Communication Skills and Presentation Skills. A large accent is also put on application of ICT tools in Helath care. Likewise, marketing topics were modernized according to new trends in marketing theory and practice. Specific characteristics of marketing in health care industry are in particular explained.
