FOR THE NISPAcee TRAINING COURSE "EFFECTIVE AND ATTRACTIVE PRESENTATION"

TRAINING OBJECTIVES:

NISPAcee has 17 years' extensive experience in carrying out international activities, such as conferences, training courses and workshops. As a result of these activities, NISPAcee recognised the urgent need to assist adult education staff extend their presentation skills. Although international academic staff and others working in the education sector are able to develop papers and written documents / presentations of a very high quality, they lack the necessary presentation skills required and are unable to present their work in an attractive manner to their audience.

 

Therefore, the main objective of this training session is to develop participants' presentation skills and introduce them to different presentation techniques and tools, including presentation software. Adequate presentation skills are vital for all professionals to be able to share their knowledge and experience with the targeted audience, mainly in the light of the ever increasing requirements for quality education in order to satisfy EU standards.

 

In this training session, the participants will be trained in two key topics: the rules for preparing a quality presentation, and the rules for delivering their own presentations.

 

The participants will learn to:

 

* understand the differences between the various types of presentation,

* explore the essential components of a presentation,

* propose atime schedule for the preparation of a presentation and own presentation,

* learn the formula for effective presentation preparation,

* choose different approaches to the structure of the presentation,

* analyse the audience.

 

The participants will learn what they have to do as professional presenters, how to begin, where to stand, what to say, how to move, how to avoid stress, how to conclude a presentation and, wherever possible, how to control the discussion.

 

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Adult educational staff, especially:

· teacher trainers,

· careers officers, educational guides and councellors,

· inspectors,

· headteachers / principals / managers of schools / organisations offering adult education,

· other (paid or voluntary) management staff in the institution / organization,

· non-teaching administrative staff,

· members of students / teachers councils in adult education.

 

Applicants must be established in one of the following countries:

· the 27 Member States of the European Union,

· the EEA/EFTA countries: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland,

· candidate countries: Croatia, Turkey.

 

LANGUAGE USED FOR THE TRAINING: English

 

PREPARATION PHASE:

The applicants are requested to:

* register into the NISPAcee database (www.nispa.org) and to upload their curriculum vitae, which should also include detailed information of their experience in giving presentations / speeches for local and international audiences,

 

The selected participants are requested to:

* select one of his/her own presentations (presented recently) or develop a new presentation and submit it prior to the training course, for review by the trainers.

 

The submitted presentations will be analysed during the training session and participants will have the opportunity to work on their improvement and will be taught how to present them effectively.

 

FOLLOW-UP:

Development of individuals' presentations using the knowledge and skills gained from the training - excellent presentation structure, impressive slides and attractive presentation stories.

 

Networking - the participants will have the chance to register in the NISPAcee database, to receive information about relevant activities in the region, to exchange experiences and to participate in future NISPAcee events and projects focusing on EU matters.

COURSE FEE for tuition, training materials, coffee breaks and welcome dinner:

Full 5-day training: 600 Euro

First 3 days of the training: 250 Euro

The course fee does not include the costs connected with the board and lodging. All travel, board and lodging costs are at the expense of participants.

 

CANCELLATION RULES:

No cancellation fee for cancellations received up until September 14, 2011.

 

A CANCELLATION FEE of 150 Euros for any cancellations received after September 15, 2011 will be due. There is no charge for relevant substitute participants.
