8th NISPAcee – EGPA Trans-European Dialogue
In this TED, we will study this
proposition. We will take stock of existing performance management efforts and
ask ourselves whether performance management can address its critiques when developed
as a learning system. This being a dialogue,
we will try to understand differences between countries and administrative
traditions in Europe, but we will also pay attention to shared challenges that
European governments are facing. Papers can evaluate current practices as well
as propose prospective directions.

NISPAcee collaborative efforts with IASIA
NISPAcee’s
Executive Director, who serves as a Vice President of IASIA for Regional
and International Cooperation (International Association of Schools and
Institutes of Administration, Brussels, Belgium), represented NISPAcee at the IASIA Annual Conference, which was held on June 30 – July 4, 2014 in Port
Elizabeth, South Africa. She participated in the IASIA Board of Management
meeting and she co-chaired the Working Group on Education and Training
Programme.

Training of trainers for university teachers
A training of trainers for future Western Balkan trainers was held on
June 16-20, 2014 at the host institution, the Law Faculty, University of Nis,
Serbia.

Government vs. Governance in the Teaching of Young Academicians in V4
The
project "Government vs. Governance in the
Teaching of Young Academicians in V4”, supported by the International
Visegrad Fund (www.visegradfund.org) brought
together young academicians and teachers and provided them with the opportunity
to discuss actual public administration and policy theories and topics through
their participation in the 22nd NISPAcee
Annual Conference – the largest international public administration conference
in Central and Eastern Europe, organised by the Network of Institutes and
Schools of Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe , the National
University of Public Service, and Corvinus University in Budapest, on May
22-24, 2014.

22nd NISPAcee Annual Conference
The 22nd NISPAcee Annual Conference, organised in
co-operation with the Corvinus University of Budapest, Budapest, Hungary and
the National University of Public Service, Budapest, Hungary, was attended by
350 participants from 41 countries worldwide. This included 21 CEE countries
covered by NISPAcee’s institutional membership.

International Consortium for Administration Research and University Studies
Representatives
of ICARUS – International Consortium for Administration Research and
University Studies – a consortium of 7 universities and NISPAcee – met for
the third time during the 22nd NISPAcee conference in Budapest,
Hungary on May 22, 2014.

Capacity Building of Caucasus Academic PA Programmes
The new project"Capacity
Building of Caucasus Academic Public Administration Programmes on the basis of
EU Administrative Principles” supported by the International Visegrad Fund will help to share the knowledge and
experiences of V4 and Caucasus countries in Public Administration the teaching,
training and research necessary for institutional and administrative capacity
building, based on EU administrative principles, which include the rule of law,
efficiency, effectiveness, openness, transparency, integrity and citizens’
participation.

Young Public Policy Makers’ Jamboree
Within the
project Young Public Policy Makers’ Jamboree "Living out of
stereotypes", supported by the International Visegrad Fund, a first "Jamboree"
event of its kind was organised by NISPAcee in April 2014 in Bratislava.

on the development of a methodological manual for trainers was held on February
18-21, 2014 at the host institution, the Faculty of Political Science,
Montenegro.

WILCO project
The WILCO project examined
social innovation in European cities and how it is related to urban governance.
Although the type of social problems is broadly similar across cities, local
responses differ greatly. Four different types of urban innovation regimes were
identified, as were the conditions most crucial to the survival and diffusion
of innovations.

ASPA International Public Administration Award 2014
The American
Society for Public Administration (ASPA) International Public Administration
Award 2014 was presented to Ludmila Gajdosova, NISPAcee‘s Executive Director,
for sustained commitment, dedication and service internationally. The Award
Ceremony was held during the last ASPA Annual Conference held in Washington, DC, on March 14-18, 2014. Ms. Gajdosova
accepted the Award with great honour, and saw it as an evaluation of the achievements
of the whole organisation, headed by her, for the last twenty years.

NISPAcee participation in new OECD Initiatives
The OECD Network of Schools of Government was launched
in February 2014 during the OECD meeting on Open Government in Caserta, Italy.
Ludmila Gajdosova, NISPAcee’s Executive Director, participated in this meeting
as both the IASIA Vice President and NISPAcee representative. She was invited
to participate in the Steering Committee of this new initiative as NISPAcee’s
representative.
