The NISPAcee Journal of Public Administration and Policy | Volume VI, Number 2, Winter 2013/2014, Special issue: Education and Training: Preparing for the Future of the Public Sector in Europe

Editor(s): Isabella Proeller, Christoph Reichard

ISBN: 978-80-89013-69-2

ISSN: 1337-9038

Price: 15 €

From 6 to 8 February 2013 EGPA and NISPAcee jointly organized their 6th Trans-European Dialogue (TED 6) at the University of Potsdam in Germany. About 50 participants from 16 European countries (including 7 countries from the NISPAcee sphere) discussed current issues of Public Administration Education and Training. During the two-day conference the program was structured into five thematic sub-sessions in order to address core aspects of the broader conference theme. This special issue offers an overview and summary of the discussions and conclusions of TED 6. For this purpose, first, this editorial will summarize the core line of arguments and central debates held during the conference and in each sub-session. Second, this special issue comprises a number of papers and comments originating from TED 6. Five full articles and an additional eight shorter comments on specific issues of the workshop present a colorful picture of the presentations and debates which occurred during the two days in Potsdam. In sum, our objective and hope would be that a broader audience may have the opportunity to become familiar with some of the relevant issues of contemporary PA education in Europe by this special issue.
